Currarong (Part I)

Margot called and we came. About 25 all up to celebrate her Significant Birthday. What better place than right by the boat ramp at Currarong.

Saturday started sunny as a group of us headed out as far as Beecroft Head surviving insults hurled by irate fishermen. The building swells rolled along the cliff making for enjoyable paddling.

Lippy’s Klepper rolled with the swells,
while ET and Gillian caught up with news.

A short paddle up the creek past curious pelicans brought us to some mangroves where ET proved she could fit comfortably under the bridge.

That night we partied long and hard,
before heading to bed by 10!

Just rollin’ ’round

On Sunday 11 May, Harry, Andrew, Pete and I headed from Clontarf over to Balmoral to work on our rolls. Peter and I worked on pawlata and sweep rolls while Andrew mentored Harry as he tried a few trickier moves.
Andrew and Harry started with some stretching
Harry works on his new roll

While Peter has other ideas about what to do with a kayak!
